Pressing Matters: November 1, 2013, Edition

Only a short, late edition this week, as we’ve been mourning the passing of the Editorial Parrot.

All your pistachio are belong to me.

Pressing Matters: Week of October 28-November 1, 2013

  1. Just sent out a contract for a new YA sci-fi project. News soon!
  2. Sent out rewrite request on a sequel to a much-beloved C&G novel…you’ll just have to wait to find out which!

  1. Edits on Sword continue apace…

  1. Infinity Key is back through proofreading and just about ready to go.
  2. Grave has an ARC layout and is shipping out to reviewers as we speak.

Reviews, Promotions, and Buzz

  1. Pre-orders for Infinity Key are still going gangbusters. We’ve blown past our goal and we’re well into “insane and awesome rewards” territory. The more people pledge, the more stories Chrysoula will write. How’s THAT for awesome?
  2. Fantasy & Science Fiction (aka SFSite) has reviewed The Other Half of the Sky and loved it! It “refutes…intellectual inertia,” which is high praise indeed!

  1. Sadly, Cody, the Candlemark & Gleam Editorial Parrot, passed away on Wednesday, October 30, at the age of 35 (we think). He will be desperately missed.
  2. Still working on accounting and royalties, and having ongoing software troubles. This is getting ridiculous.
  3. This is going to be a pretty fantastic anthology. You should totally back it.
  4. Bookish pet costumes, from Hallowe’en. How adorable are these?
  5. It’s a pumpkin massacre!
