Candlemark & Gleam is delighted to announce that we have two books in 2025’s Pride Storybundle, curated by Catherine Lundoff and our own Melissa Scott. This year, the bundle contains 14 works, including novels, novellas, anthologies, and single-author collections, showcasing the many forms that queerness takes, and the amazing group of authors writing today. We’re delighted to be in such excellent company!
First up is A.M. Tuomala’s The Map and the Territory, a complex and ultimately hopeful take on the end of a world. Like all Tuomala’s fiction, it’s beautifully written; the images are haunting — the city caught in crystal! — and the characters will linger in memory.
The second is Melissa Scott’s Fallen, far future space opera and forgotten Ancestral technologies with a sapphic relationship at its core. It’s a sequel of sorts to Scott’s Finders, set in the same future timeline but centuries before, and continues to explore the fraught relationship between humans and the deadly AI they inadvertently created.
As always, Storybundle allows readers who pay the recommended $25 price for the regular and bonus books to set aside a portion of their purchase price for charity, and this year that money will go to Rainbow Railroad. It’s an NGO that helps LGBT+ people escape state-sponsored persecution and violence worldwide, and their work is needed now more than ever. This is a gift that can save a life.
